💾 How to save a recipe
Saving recipes to your Cooked.wiki account is quick and easy. Here’s how to build your personal recipe collection.
Using the Web Clipper
The fastest way to save recipes from any website:
- Install the Cooked.wiki browser extension
- Visit any recipe website
- Click the Cooked.wiki icon in your browser toolbar
- Review the automatically extracted recipe information
- Click “Save Recipe” to add it to your collection
Manual Recipe Entry
To create a recipe from scratch:
- Log in to your Cooked.wiki account
- Click the “+” button in the top navigation bar
- Select “New Recipe”
- Fill in the recipe details (ingredients, instructions, cooking time, etc.)
- Click “Save” to add it to your collection
Importing from Text or Images
Cooked.wiki can extract recipe information from:
- Pasted text: Copy recipe text and use the “Import from Text” option
- Photos: Upload images of printed recipes using the “Import from Image” feature
- PDFs: Upload PDF cookbooks with the “Import from PDF” option
Troubleshooting Import Issues
If you encounter problems with the recipe import:
- Try highlighting just the recipe portion of the page before using the web clipper
- Check that the website doesn’t block content extraction
- Use the manual correction tools if some fields are imported incorrectly
